How much is a fishing charter in Port Aransas?

How much is a fishing charter per person?
Charters here price by the boat, not by the seat: the ranges above cover up to four anglers, and each additional angler adds roughly the per-person amount below. So a bigger group usually lowers the per-head cost of the same trip.
The per-extra-angler adder in current market rates is about $60–$75 per person beyond four. Split a full-day offshore boat six ways and the per-person math often beats a party-boat ticket for a private trip; run the estimator with your real group size to see it.
What's included in the price?
The standard Port Aransas rate covers the boat and crew and the fishing itself: captain and mate, the vessel's licenses, rods, reels, tackle, bait, and ice. What it never includes is your own fishing license, and fish cleaning is customarily a separate charge.

Why does a full day cost so much more than a half day here?
Because in Port Aransas the full day changes what you are fishing, not just how long. Boats clear the jetties straight into the Gulf, so the extra hours buy range to deep water and the fuel to get there — a structural cost, not markup.
Ports without that jetty-out access spend a full day covering more of the same bay. Here the half-day/full-day gap is the price of true deep sea fishing — compare the trip types qualitatively and pick by the water you want, not the sticker alone.
How much do you tip?
Customary practice on the Texas coast is a tip in the range of fifteen to twenty percent of the trip price for a crew that worked hard, handed to the captain or split with the deckhand in cash at the dock.

Are fishing licenses included in the charter price?
The boat’s own licenses are, but yours is not: Texas has no charter exemption, so every angler 17 or over needs their own Texas fishing license with the saltwater endorsement before stepping aboard. Buy it online from TPWD before your trip.
Do charter prices include fish cleaning?
Customarily it is a separate line: many crews clean and bag your catch for an added per-fish or flat charge, and some include a basic clean. It varies boat to boat, so ask when you book rather than assuming either way.
