What is the speckled trout limit in Texas?

When do speckled trout bite in Port Aransas?
Year-round, with the pattern set by water temperature rather than a calendar: over the grass and sand pockets in the warm months, deeper structure and channel edges in winter. TPWD publishes no spawning window for wild trout, so unlike most sites, neither do we.

Can you keep an oversized speckled trout in Texas?
A tag system covers trout over 28 inches, but here is an honest wrinkle: two current TPWD sources describe how the tagged fish counts differently, so we state only that the tag system exists and link TPWD rather than guess.
